The executive committee of the Association of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (ANAME), led by President Saiful Islam Duke, attended a meeting with the Honorable Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), Rear Admiral S M Moniruzzaman, at his office in Bandar Bhaban, Chittagong.
Representing the Association were member Dr. Reaz Hasan Khondoker and Senior Organizing Secretary Ataur Rahman. From the CPA, Member (Engineer) Commodore Kaosar Rashid and Member (Harbour & Marine) Captain Ahmed Amin Abdullah also participated in the meeting. During this meeting, key points of the discussion were:
– Employment opportunities for Naval Architects within CPA’s Engineering and Maintenance Department, including workshops, through amendments to the employment policy.
– Collaboration between ANAME and CPA for conducting feasibility studies related to port planning, development standardization, research and development initiatives, as well as incident investigations.
The meeting was highly productive for ANAME, and we anticipate positive outcomes from these discussions.
